BuildTak 3D Printing Build Surface, 8″ x 8″ Square, Black (Pack of 3)

The Buildtak 3D-printing build surface is an 8″ x 8″ square sheet that adheres to a print bed of a fused-filament 3D printer (sold separately) to help the filament stick during printing, while also enabling clean removal of the printed part afterward. The sheet is compatible with ABS, PLA, HIPS, PET+, brick, wood, and flexible (TPE) filaments (sold separately), and has a durable construction that allows for multiple uses with either the same or different filament material. The build surface can also be used with nylon and t-glase when a thin layer of washable glue stick (sold separately) is spread onto the surface. It installs more quickly and with fewer bubbles than tape or films.

Ideal Jacobs manufactures the Buildtak 3D-printing build surface and provides custom services such as rapid prototyping, laser-cutting, machining, and injection molding. The company, founded in 1921 and headquartered in Maplewood, NJ, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9001:2008 and 14001:2004.

  1. Buildtak surface Overall a great product.First off I will say that I have subtracted a single star due to the cost of the material further justified by its durability / cost ratio. It is incredibly expensive when compared to other print materials. One could attempt to justify the cost by estimating time saved from printing rafts / other platform adhesion methods but in the end, the cost isn’t quite in the right range yet. The cost benefits are further reduced in the larger sheets. I have a ~12X12 print…

  2. I want this product to work…trying to hang in there I am having an insanely tough time getting my prints off the BuildTak, it seems like a great product however I am having no luck removing my prints…First print was too close (my fault)…basically melted into the buildtak and rendered the entire surface unusable…actually needed to remove the film and waste it…Second print, moved the nozzle well above the height needed to prevent the same thing that happened to first time…seems to have happened again….highly…

  3. Works, but not quite well enough. I purchased this build surface for use with a Prusa I3 kit I purchased and built because I was having serious issues getting my prints to stick. This product does seem to work pretty well but was not the final solution I have ended up using. While abs and pla both seem to stick to this better than glass or tape. I still had issues with the print pulling up in corners causing failed prints. Not quite as often or as bad as what I had experienced previously but it still happened. I had…
