A Flexible Nylon 3D Printing Filament (1.75 mm, 400 g) Makers will appreciate the easy printing and densely smooth feel of projects created with Scorpion. Our flexible nylon has fantastic interlayer adhesion. It is very strong and depending on the layer height, projects made with Scorpion can bear high forces and weight bouncing back with no damage from repeated stress. In testing, we lifted over 20 kg (44 lbs) with a handle created from the flexible nylon. ***Nylons are sensitive to water and humidity!*** Always keep in an airtight, waterproof container when not in direct use (ex. ziploc) and include a desiccant bag. If filaments are exposed to moisture, follow typical drying instructions in an oven for nylon filaments. ***It is recommended to dry nylons before printing with them for optimal quality*** Printing temperature: 225°C-235°C Print Speed: Maximum is 50 mm/s Layer heights:tested for 0.1 mm and above Printer Bed Instructions Heated bed is not necessary if you use a BuildTak bed and PVA glue. This combination produces the best quality prints with good adhesion and no peeling of the edges. If you have a heated bed, keep it at 55-60°C. and blue painters glue. A heated bed is a good alternative to the BuildTak + glue combo. Printing with neither a heated bed or BuildTak is not recommended as the edges of prints can pull up. This is fine for quick prints but not for your final designs. Glue necessary?: Yes. We recommend using a PVA glue (regular glue stick or Elmer’s washable glue) on the printer bed in order to strengthen adhesion of the first layer. Do this regardless of your printer bed substrate. Tape?: Yes, as with the glue, we recommend using blue painter’s tape or similar to create a good gripping surface for nylon.
